Legal Issues
This 2-hour session is presented by area attorneys and is geared for family members and addresses the general legal concerns that present through the course of managing Alzheimer's disease.
Train The Trainer
This program is geared for the educators and trainers in long term care and other health related agencies and addresses variables and tips in setting up dementia care training programs for staff. Participants are expected to already possess a basic understanding of the process of dementing illnesses and the care of individuals with dementia. Cost is $65.00 per person and $40.00 for each additional person from the same facility or organization.
Redefining Me
A discussion about the process of diagnosis, risk factors, symptoms revealed in the disease, and current treatments. The series explores the steps that the person with the disease can take to reduce the distress that can occur throughout the Alzheimer’s journey. This series is for the person who is newly diagnosed and in the early stage of the disease and their accompanying family members.
Building Effective Skills Training (B.E.S.T.)
This training is provided to paraprofessionals and those caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease in care facilities. These one-day workshops, offered regularly thoughout the year, provide information and training in the areas of communication, nutrition, activities, dental care, and behavior management. Topics covered meet the mandated training topics set by Missouri House Bill 603.
